“Beneath The Overhang”, 10 x 8″ Sennelier watercolor and Windsor & Newton gouache on cold press.
The Reticulated or Gold Marble Bushynose Ancistrus (Ancistrus claro), catalogued as LDA008, is a modest, fantastically marked suckermouth catfish from the Mato Grosso location of Brazil. It is found principally in shallow waters of the Rio Claro. The intricate sample of this fish varies from spots to wavy, interconnected traces. The shade is usually dim brown or black with light-weight brown, gold to white styles with some rusty overtones. It is a hugely attractive fish for dedicated aquarists. It eats typically algae escalating on rocks and submerged roots and branches and seldom exceeds 2.75″ (seven cm) in size.
